Peter Behrens 1902
In 1814 Benedikt von Poschinger had a new hollow glass factory built to produce upscale crystal glass. Around 1900 the factory began to cooperate with young, future-oriented designers. They developed sets of drinking glasses in timeless shapes and designs, which customers are still enthusiastic about today.

In his work as a painter, Illustrator and above all as an architect and designer, Peter Behrens (1868-1940) was one of the most distinguished artists of the Art Nouveau period. In 1898 he designed his first set of goblets. Compared to the lavishly decorated goblets of that time, these goblets with clear and elegant shapes represented a new beginning.

In 1902 Behrens, who was already one of the most famous German designers, contributed to the exhibition of modern living spaces in “Warenhaus Wertheim”. He designed a dining room with a set of matching drinking glasses that were manufactured at the Poschinger factory. A wide gold ribbon accentuates the distinctive cylindrical shape of the glasses.

Each goblet is signed, numbered and gift wrapped in a box.
